The Turkish Foreign Ministry yesterday dismissed criticism that Turkey's Iraq policy was shaped by concerns over the fate of the disputed northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk and the rights of the Turks' ethnic kin, the Turkmens. The ministry claimed it had embraced a strategic perspective that covered all aspects of the Iraqi situation."
