The Iraqi Election Commission announced the results of elections held on January 30. The Iraqi United Alliance won the elections achieving 47.6 percent of the vote. It was reported that 58 percent of the 8.5 million eligible citizens voted. The Kurdish United List came second with 25.4 percent of the vote and interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi's party Iraqi list received 13.6 percent of the vote. "
