"US Middle East envoy expected in Turkey

ANKARA - US Middle East envoy George Mitchell will hold talks with Turkish officials in Ankara this week as part of a regional tour, a foreign ministry spokesman said on Tuesday.
Mitchell is expected in the Turkish capital late Wednesday ahead of planned talks Thursday with President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and foreign ministry officials, Burak Ozugergin told a news conference here.The US envoy will be in Turkey as part of his second visit to the Middle East during which he will meet Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas on Friday."
