"2.9% of the Turkish Cypriot workforce are employed in the free areas of Cyprus

The Turkish Cypriot daily Yeni Duzen newspaper reports that the number of people employed in October 2007 decreased by 2,028 in comparison with October 2006 and fell to 89,787.
The information comes from the latest Workforce Household Survey carried out by the “State Planning Organisation”, .
The paper says 31.5 % of workers are employed in the “public” sector."
