A few years ago, Turkey had a slow, inefficient and sometimes embarrassingly corrupt judiciary. Today, the Crescent and Star boasts a slow, inefficient, sometimes embarrassingly corrupt and deeply politicized judiciary. Turkish courtrooms are increasingly becoming a dangerous battlefield for ideological wars between Most Important Persons (MIPs) in Ankara, with an increasing risk of 'unwanted civilian casualties.'"
