"University watchdog backs headscarf ban, co-efficients

The headscarf ban in universities and the coefficients used to calculate university entrance examination points were legal and necessary, said Turkey's higher education watchdog in a report yesterday.The report, called “Turkey's Higher Education strategy” and prepared by the Higher Education Board (YÖK), was submitted to President Ahmet Necdet Sezer on Tuesday."
