"Report: Women in civil service fight losing battle for advancement
Turkish women face gross discrimination in government employment, according to a new independent study released yesterday.
The report makes particularly uncomfortable reading for a government sensitive to charges that its cultural Islamic prejudices bias it against women in the workplace. The authors of the report recommend a radical rethink in official circles about gender discrimination including the setting up of an ombudsperson to hear complaints."
