With current Ambassador Faruk Logoglu's term coming to an end, a prospective name must be submitted to President Ahmet Sezer for approval, but a delay in this process is thought to be due to a difference in opinion on the matter between Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul.
