Here’s a question to start with: If you had a marker and a blank piece of paper and were asked to draw a quick sketch, what would you draw?
In the last few months, discussions about plans to build a new canal in Istanbul have been the top agenda in Turkey. Many people are opposed to the idea of digging a new strait from one end of Istanbul to the other, which Turkey's President Tayyip Erdoğan has called “his greatest dream”. Of course, like every other topic in recent years, the Istanbul Canal project has split the country in half.
