Scottish Jews regularly “hide their religious identity to avoid abuse and attack” according to a survey carried out by the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities (SCoJeC). Israelis in Scotland reportedly pretend “to be French or Turkish to ‘avoid uncomfortable situations’.”
