Tait: Istanbul trip gives fresh perspective as World Disability Union conference aims to knock down barriers

EDMONTON - It took a trip halfway around the world to give Kim McDonald and Suzanne Harrison a new appreciation for home.
McDonald and Harrison work for the Paralympic Sports Association and run programs throughout Edmonton for people with physical disabilities. They were among 165 delegates from 65 countries invited to make presentations at the first World Disability Union general assembly, held Oct. 22-23 in Istanbul, Turkey.
