Most foreign shoppers come to Istanbul in search of hand-spun village carpets, Turkish Delight pyramids surrounded by the scent of spices and nargile smoke in centuries-old bazaars. High-street fashion and sushi at a state-of-the-art shopping mall is likely to throw off even the more educated tourist. "
