JERUSALEM — Israel's decision to join a UN probe of its deadly raid on a Gaza-bound aid ship should help patch up ties with Turkey, Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said on Tuesday.
But he insisted that the Israeli commando raid in international waters was 'legitimate' and 'very measured,' and that the nine Turks killed in the May 31 operation were armed, violent and 'somehow linked to global jihad.'"
