The minaret ban in Switzerland in beginning of December, a discussion about the French identity which includes a strict dissociation from Muslim lifestyle, a strengthening of conservative Christians in the German Chancellor Party, substantially unequal treatment about the Schengen Treaty, a European Council leader who favors a “Christian EU”, repeatedly comments of leading politicians against Turkish EU-accession and generally a small advance in the membership negotiations – the list of disappointments coming from Europe to Turkey is becoming longer. At the same time the appreciation for Turkish advancement is becoming less."
