Political tension has escalated in Turkey over the initiative by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) to end the 25-year conflict with Kurdish rebels in southeastern Turkey.
The tension has even reached the point of breaking all ties between the ruling party and its opposition, leading Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin to call for all involved parties to ' lower the blood pressure' on the issue."
