"Turkish warship photo a ‘sad oversight’ by Ministry
THE MINISTRIES of Education and Defence yesterday conflicted over the former’s decision to advertise Cyprus’ participation at an international contemporary arts event with a photograph depicting a Turkish warship.
Defence Minister Costas Papacostas said it was “truly a sad oversight which is unacceptable” that the Education Ministry had chosen to send out official invitations depicting the Turkish ship and flag.
The minister admitted he had not seen the invitations and did not know under what circumstances such a decision had been made."
