"Turkish designer wins prestigious award (Turkish Daily News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Competing with 3,880 designs from 34 countries, Irmak prepared a unique package for the Istanbul series of Koleksiyon Mobilya (Collection Furniture), earning two awards for the designer. Organized this year into categories of package design, advertisement and interactive media, the competition has been held in Essen since 1955. Winners' works are put on exhibition in Essen's Red Dot Design Museum.
Along with Gokhan Irmak, Irmak established the "Orhan Irmak Design". In the packaging design category, he says, Turkey is so new; this has both advantages and disadvantages."
