It is no secret that the American Enterprise Institute constituted a policy backup for the US Defense Department in the war on Iraq. Michael Ledeen and Michael Rubin come to mind. These two were tireless advocates for the Iraq intervention. Now press reports are surfacing that Paul Wolfowitz may soon join AEI. Good. AEI needs to prepare for the policy battles just ahead. In this context, why has AEI gone virtually silent in recent weeks on the issues of Iraq and Iran?"
