"Turks angry at Swiss 'insults'

THE Turkish Football Federation has condemned the treatment of its national side in last Saturday's World Cup playoff against Switzerland, fuelling tension ahead of the return leg in Istanbul tomorrow.
Switzerland took the driving seat in the tie when it secured a deserved 2-0 home victory with goals from Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos and Lazio midfielder Valon Behrami. Turkey's federation (TFF) complained Swiss supporters had whistled and jeered during the Turkish national anthem and that Swiss security officials had shouted at Turkey's players on their way to the dressing room after the match.
