EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - EU foreign ministers on Monday (20 November) moved closer to releasing a €259 million aid package for Northern Cyprus, stuck in Brussels' coffers since July 2004.
The European Commission had in July 2004 offered the financial assistance package to the Turkish-populated north of the island, following a rejection of the UN peace plan by the Greek Cypriot part in April that year."
