COLOGNE - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that ''if Turkey takes its place in the EU, an alliance of civilizations will be realized.''
''Turkey considers the EU membership necessary; but the EU also needs Turkey as a bridge between civilizations,'' Erdogan told while opening the Union of European Turkish Democrats' (ATDB) headquarters in Cologne, named ''Villa Turka.''"
