SportsTurkey won sporting laurels in team sports at the 15th Mediterranean Games in Almeria, Spain.
The first surprise came from the women's basketball team that won the championship for Turkey.
The 'Sultans of the Net' won its 'first ever' gold medal by defeating Croatia with a margin of 14 points. This was the second greatest victory for the country after the men's basketball team won the 2001 European Championship."
