"Modern Turkey Is In The Best Interest Of E.U., Fini
ANKARA - Italian Foreign Minister Gianfranco Fini said, ''I believe that a democratic, modern Turkey which has a high living standard and sharing values of Europe, is in the best interest of the EU.''
Prior to his visit to Turkey, Fini spoke to A.A correspondent on Tuesday.
When asked about the impact of the constitutional crisis in Europe over Turkey's EU perspective, Fini said, ''EU heads of state and government who convened on June 16-17 said in their final communique that the European Council is determined to fulfill its commitments towards candidate countries, which is also including EU's starting entry talks with Turkey on October 3rd.''"
