Officials discuss Turkish produce ban
JUN. 17 1:53 P.M. ET Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to help end a costly Moscow-imposed embargo on Turkish produce, Erdogan's office said Friday.
The Russian embargo was imposed May 30 due to concerns over Mediterranean fruit fly larvae in Turkish produce, according to the Turkish Agriculture Ministry.
The embargo has cost Turkey as much as US$10 million (euro8.3 million) per day, the Union of East Black Sea Exporters President Ahmet Hamid Gurdogan said."
