The rejection of the European Union constitution by the French and the Dutch seems to have had a negative impact on what the Turkish people think of the union. According to a recent poll conducted by the Ankara-based International Strategic Research Institution (USAK), the Turkish public is becoming increasingly irritated with France, citing France as the main obstacle in Turkey's EU membership process."
