In this age Turkey will become an even more important topic, but the real issue is whether the European Union is 'enlargement fatigued' or not. Of course, the general mood in Europe is not good and the entire EU body will concentrate now on deeper, internal issues rather than where and how far to expand. In other words, Turkey's aim of getting into the EU afternegotiating for some 10 years seems more unrealistic now, and Turkey's EU supporters are definitely the losers in last week's developments.
