Turkey vowed Thursday to pursue its bid to join the European Union despite a deepening crisis in the bloc over the EU constitution, but fears mounted here that the country's European dream may be on the skids. The EU's decision last December to start accession talks with Turkey, a populous and relatively poor Muslim nation, is believed to have swayed at least in part the 'no' vote in the referendum on the constitution in the Netherlands on Wednesday and in France three days before. The Turkish foreign ministry expressed hope that the 25-member bloc would resolve the crisis since 'reconciliation, common sense and resolve to accomplish common targets' had always prevailed over differences within the EU. "
