Turkish-American relations are most problematic when the issue comes to Iraq. Turkey adapts a manner of criticism against the US on the subjects such as Iraq's territorial integrity, the status of Kerkuk (Kirkuk) and providing civilian security in the US military operations. The Americans on the other hand think Ankara has been of little help to Washington in Iraq and that Ankara sees Iraq in general through the northern Iraq perspective."
