HURRIYET- Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan supports restrictions on alcohol imposed by municipalities under his Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) control. Not his support, but his reason for this is surprising: ‘We are carrying out our duty under the Constitution to protect young people from alcohol,’ Erdogan said. In other words, Erdogan and the AKP mayors aren’t restricting alcohol due to their religious beliefs, but in order to protect young people. "
