"EU accession talks likely to start in January
Accession negotiations between Turkey and the European Union are expected to start in January on the relatively easy chapters of science and research and education and culture.
The EU and Turkey formally opened accession talks with Turkey on Oct. 3, and the negotiation process started when Turkish and EU Commission experts met on Oct. 20 to have a first session of screening of Turkish legislation in the field of science and research. Screening on education and culture started on Oct. 26. "
