Istanbul, 8 July (AKI) - Thursday's deadly attacks in London have reminded many in Turkey of a series of blasts in Istanbul in November 2003 which killed 50 people and injured 750. Those bombings, blamed by authorities on al-Qaeda, targeted the British Consulate, the HSBC Bank headquarters and two Jewish synagogues, but most of the victims were Turkish Muslims. On Friday many Turkish newspapers in their reaction to the London attacks drew similarities with the Istanbul bombings, and with those that hit Madrid in March 2004, when 191 people were killed."
