Hurriyetim-Tufan Turenc: The British could not even celebrate their Olympic victory

"Tufan Turenc: The British could not even celebrate their Olympic victory

I have to reveal my feelings openly: I am very pleased that that the Olympics were not given to Paris. When the decision of the Olympic Committee was announced from Singapore, my reaction was 'Oh, good for them!' My anger towards the French might be judged peculiar, since I studied in a French high school. But if you take a look at the French position over the last few years, it is completely natural I think. Is there a single Turk who is not angry with France these days? I don't think so. Starting with the French politicians, the anti-Turkey stance of the French people has completely erased any sympathy for the French nation among our people."
