"Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport reaches new milestone

Airport hakan writes 'Istanbul's low cost airport Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International has reached a milestone: the 1 millionth passenger. Sabiha Gokcen Airport was opened in 2001, but it was underused until the Turkish Government's initiative to encourage the civil aviation in Turkey. With Corendon and Pegasus Airlines based in SAW and THY as well as Germanwings having scheduled regular services, the passenger numbers finally reached to one million. It was reported only recently that SAW is also about to sign an agreement with EasyJet to boost it's passenger numbers further. "
