ERDOGAN: ''ORHAN PAMUK TOPIC ENDED IN TURKEY''

DAVOS - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that ''the charges against Turkish novelist Orhan Pamuk dropped so there is no need to elaborate on a topic that has ended in Turkey.''

-ISRAEL-PALESTINE PEACE-

Responding to questions of Turkish and foreign journalists about current issues in Davos, Erdogan said in his meeting with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan they both stressed the importance of respecting the preference of the Palestinian people. Erdogan hinted that the existence of the Israeli state should be accepted by the new government in Palestine.

Erdogan said that Turkey, as a regional country would do its utmost both to help ensure an Israeli-Palestinian peace and to contribute to democratization process in the region."
