BAYKAN - Culture & Tourism Minister Atilla Koc said, ''Turkey hosted 21 million tourists in 2005.''
Speaking to reporters in southeastern city of Siirt on Sunday, Koc said, ''we will focus also on thermal and winter tourism, not only summer tourism.''
''A total of 21 million tourists visited Turkey in 2005. It means a 22 percent increase when compared to 2004. This year, our target is to host 26 million tourists,'' he added.
Koc said, ''only 2 percent of 21 million tourists visited eastern Anatolia. We will try to attract more tourists to this region.''
