"Istanbul hosts its first Picasso exhibition

Picasso, who never liked to travel, has finally made it to Istanbul, in the form of a major art exhibition that organizers say is symbolic of Islamic Turkey's cultural shift from the ancient and Oriental to the contemporary and European.
Guler Sabanci, a Turk who is one of Europe's richest and most influential women, on Tuesday opened the preview of the show -- called 'Picasso in Istanbul' -- at her family's museum on the Bosporus, the legendary strait that divides Europe from Asia."
