Turkey's men's and women's teams were both promoted to the first division of the European League after action in Division Two Group B at Istanbul's Ataturk Olympic Stadium.
The women won the group ahead of Switzerland which was also promoted. The men had to be satisfied with second place behind Belarus. Elvan Abeylegesse completed a double for Turkey on Sunday. After winning the 3000 meters on Saturday, she stepped up to 5000 and won again in a time of 15.15.14, well outside her own world record. "
