"EU to Take On Expense of Kurdish Translators

European Union (EU) Commission has promised Turkey that it will provide financial support to trainKurdish translators to work in the courts.
Tobias King, an official at the Commission's Justice, Freedom and Security General Directorate, announced this in answer to questions from Turkish correspondents in a training seminar for journalists in Brussels yesterday. King said that with the help of Criminal Trial Procedures Law, those who are not fluent in Turkish, will be assisted by the court. Underlining this as a significant improvement, the EU official said that first they asked Turkish Justice Ministry about their preparations for providing Kurdish translators and that if Turkey conducts preparations to train these translators the EU is ready to finance this, King added. "
