"Could Yes to Turkey mean No to EU charter?

EU leaders' impending decision to start entry talks with Turkey has little public support in countries where voters could cast a protest vote in referendums on the bloc's first constitution, politicians and analysts say. All 25 member states must ratify the European Union charter and at least 10 have announced they will hold plebiscites on whether to accept or reject the constitution.
Turkish membership of the EU is unlikely to be a big issue in referendum campaigns in Ireland, Spain and Britian, but in countries such as Denmark, the Netherlands and France, voters could just say 'No' if Turkey takes centre-stage in the debate. "
