Brazilian Paulo Mendes da Rocha, winner of Pritzker Architectural Prize-2006, considers the architecture of Istanbul “a component born from human conscience.”
In Istanbul to collect his award, the popular architect said Monday: “Istanbul also has vision at the same time it has the foundations architecture. It is very exciting for a country, involving Christian and Muslim as well as Eastern and Western culture.”"
