ANKARA, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Turkey's top security body, the MGK, said on Tuesday it was determined to fight 'terror', in an apparent rebuff to a ceasefire call from banned Kurdish separatist group the PKK.
'The MGK reiterated its determination to fight terror which targets our citizens' right to life, security, peace and welfare,' the council said in a statement after a meeting.
The PKK called last week on its armed wing to refrain from violence for a month from Aug. 20, after Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan made a trip to the troubled southeast during which he said his government wanted more reforms for the Kurds."
