"Turkish PM says no need for 'new page' in ties with USA

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended a luncheon with leading US opinion makers in Washington. In a speech there, Erdogan gave important messages on a variety of issues, ranging from anti-Americanism in Turkey to the EU process, and from the fight against the PKK [Kurdistan Workers' Party] to the future of Turkish-US relations. It would be a virtual exercise, he said, to talk about a new page in our relations. The anti-Americanism expressed by certain groups in Turkey will not affect government policies, he stressed."
