The reality of any country in the world can be fairly complex, and thus generalized comments on any country can be misleading. However Turkey is perhaps is one country where the capital stands in stark difference from the rest of it.

Ankara appears totally divorced from the rest of the country it's supposed to represent and govern. Nothing can reflect this as much as what was witnessed in the wake of the bloody provocation perpetrated against the Council of State last week. The funeral for the assassinated top judge in Ankara clearly indicated this bizarre situation in Turkey's political and social life"
