Administratively speaking, Turkish-European Union relations are on track. The same thing goes for diplomatic relations between Brussels and Ankara. But the latest political developments in Turkey have frightened Brussels.
The European Union is closely monitoring the political situation in Turkey. Until two weeks ago, Brussels was estimating that relations were not that bad despite the lack of reforms and the looming additional protocol issue.
But the attack on the Council of State, the reaction of the Turkish public and the behavior of the Turkish prime minister are worrying the European Union."
