"World Bank urges Turkey to improve education for EU entry

ANKARA, March 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Country Director for Turkey of the World Bank Andrew Vorkink said on Friday that Turkey should upgrade its level of education which would benefit the country's entry talks with the European Union (EU).
Vorkink made the comments when speaking at a conference named 'Turkish Education Sector,' an event co-sponsored by the World Bank and Turkish State Planning Organization in Ankara. He said that if the Turkish government succeeded in educational reform, it would contribute to socio-economic development and Turkey's EU entry bid."
