BRUSSELS -- Although Turkey's negotiations on joining the European Union are only in an early stage, they are already running into obstacles due to some members' reticence about the vast Muslim country joining.
Turkey began EU membership talks in October, but only after frantic last-minute wrangling to overcome objections by Austria, which had argued for Ankara to be offered something less than full EU membership."
