Talks dispute persists

Foreign Ministry spokesman Namık Tan said a dispute with the European Union on how accession negotiations should proceed has not been resolved, something that is casting a shadow on Ankara's EU membership bid at an early stage of the accession process. Tan also responded to a warning made by EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn that there might be a �train accident� between Turkey and the EU over Cyprus, saying Turkey saw no reason for such an accident to happen."
