It is difficult to position Turkey within the global framework:
Is it a Western or an Eastern country? Can we describe Turkey by using Western democratic values, or should we also insist upon 'special conditions' arising from its geographical location?
Positioning a country within the global framework is also related to the approach of other countries, especially the bigger and influential ones. And one of the main indicators of this view are the diplomats posted to this specific country."
