"Turkey Wants International Observers for Iraq Referendum
Ankara has said it is concerned that large sections of Iraqi society did not play a part in the January 30 general election.
February 16� Turkey says it wants to see international observers monitor the referendum in Iraq to approve the country�s new constitution and prevent irregularities.
Citing what he described as the deficiencies, disorder and irregularities in the election last month, Foreign Ministry spokesman Namik Tan said that Turkey hoped these could be avoided in the referendum, which will be held before the end of this year."
