A bumper crop of oranges gleams against dark green foliage on the hillsides around Lefke in north Cyprus. But in spite of efforts to promote Turkish Cypriot trade with the European Union, Sami Dayioglu, a citrus grower, sounds gloomy about this season's harvest.
Rather than crossing the Green Line, the unofficial border with the Greek Cypriot-controlled south, by truck, Mr Dayioglu's 2,000-tonne orange crop will travel to Turkey for export to EU markets."
